                                                                                August 25, 2003

Dear Duane,

As this summer has drawn to a close, and another school year begins, we just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your dedication and perseverance in promoting our daughter, Montana Patin, for a college softball scholarship this past year.  Montana’s dream and one of her goals in life has been to attain a scholarship to help her pursue her education and continue to play the sport that she dearly loves.  As parents, it has been a wonderful experience watching her chase that dream, as she worked hard to discipline herself and always strive to improve in every aspect of the game, we watched her reach the ultimate milestone of verbally committing to Texas Tech University on July 7th, 2003.

When we embarked on our relationship with College Sports Exposure to create her skills video, it is safe to say that we really had no idea what to expect from the final product, however we were very pleased and excited with the end result.  We believed that it was in Montana’s best interest to pursue not only the video, but the complete exposure package as well.   Our email and home mailboxes soon became a daily focus as Montana began to receive information and letters from colleges all over the country.  We can surely attest that the online resume promotions really worked in getting her introduced to so many colleges.

It was truly amazing the number of college scouts that had already become acquainted with Montana via your online resume mailing promotion, and these coaches appeared at the various tournaments ready to watch her play.  Based on your advice that Montana had to play for an 18U Gold team to get the proper exposure, we heeded your advice and pursued a position with the Houston Power 18U Gold team.  It was always great to have you in attendance at some of Montana’s significant tournaments including the 18U ASA Gold National qualifier in Killeen, the Louisville Slugger Exposure tournament in Boulder, and even some of her high school games.  At each of these events, you were working diligently to promote Montana and provide information about her to the college coaches.  By the cooperative efforts of yourself and the Houston Power coach, John Glowacz, Montana became well-known to a variety of colleges and coaches, including several from the Big 12 Conference.

We believe that as parents, we sometimes have a difficult time being objective about our own children’s talents or abilities.  Having you objectively promote her during this past year, is one of the best investments that we ever made in Montana’s future.  As you explained to us early in the process, that you could promote her and talk to coaches, but she had to perform when it was important.  Montana still strives to live by your advice, as she continues to take every team practice, skill drill, and pool game, just as serious as a bracket game in the biggest tournament game of her career.

Thank you again for your dedication and commitment to helping Montana pursue her dream!  The next step for her is signing her contract in November 2003 as a Texas Tech Lady Raider, and we certainly hope that you will be able to attend this event as well.

Sincerely,

Paul and Mitzi Patin
