January 14, 2002 - Last season as College Sports Exposure was filming player's videos they filmed several players hitting the softball out of the park. To recognize these player's efforts, College Sports Exposure begin a series of articles titled "Home Run Derby Winners." Recently in the November NCAA Signing Period, two of the 2002 College Sports Exposure Home Run Derby Winners signed to play softball with Div. I colleges.
Brittany Tuck of Dayton High School signed to play softball with Sam Houston University and Beverly Rowan of Bryan, Texas signed to play softball with the University of Texas at Arlington. Apparently, these college coaches saw the same potential that I witnessed when I filmed them.
This Fall (2002), College Sports Exposure has already filmed four juniors who will graduate in May 2003 that hit home runs out of the park.
Jenna Kubesch hit four fair home runs and one foul home run over the outfield fence at the Weimar softball field. Jenna also bounced one ball over the fence and hit the fence 4 other times. The other three juniors all play for the South Houston Mystixx coached by Ricky Garza. They are Sharonda McDonald, Dee Jay Nelson and Becki de la Garza. They were filmed at the El Franco Lee Park in South Houston off of the Sam Houston Toll Way.
