The game wasn't decided until the sixth inning, when Lauren Boone started the inning off with a walk. Kelli Nesbitt followed with another walk. Both Lauren and Kelli advanced a base to put runners at 3rd and 2nd base when Louisiana Gold's Brooke Mitchel threw a wild pitch. Beverly Rowan struck out swinging for out #1. Then Aimee Petrosky drove the ball to deep center field for out # 2. Lauren tagged up on the fly and scored the winning run. Kelli advanced to third base. Lane Nelson and M. Crouse singled for the Comets.

Comet's Head Coach Clint Nederland said, "the game was a great ball game. He knew the umpire was not going to call the high pitch so he told his players to lay off of it. His players took advantage of the opposing pitcher's walks, he moved their runners into scoring position and then their # 6 hitter stepped-up and delivered a sacrifice fly to win the game."

The Comets reached this game by beating Impact Gold by a score of 3-2 in a Friday night game. They were then sent to the losers bracket early Saturday morning when they lost to the California Miners Gold by a score of 2-1. The Comets then beat Austin Storm Red by a score of 9-1. In this game, the Comet's Beverly Rowan hit a grand slam home run. Kelli Nesbitt pitched the whole game for the Comets giving up only one hit.
