UTEP: Mariann Webb To Play Softball For UTEP

Mariann Webb, a utility player from Magnolia, Texas, signed a national letter of intent to play softball for UTEP in 2008, announced co-head coach James Rodriguez on Wednesday.

Webb was a 2005 first team all-district honoree at Magnolia High School where she was named Most Valuable Player for the Bulldogs as an infielder. Webb earned District 17-5A Honorable Mention as a first baseman in 2004. She plays shortstop for Montgomery County Elite 18U Gold in Magnolia.

Boasting a 4.1 grade point average, Webb was invited to compete in the U.I.L. academic competitions.  In 2004, she won the Citizenship Award and has been taking AP classes all four years of high school.
